A urinary tract infection (UTI) is defined as a bacterial infection that affects any part of the urinary tract. The urine generally does not contain bacteria, viruses and fungi, so when bacteria get into the bladder or kidney and multiply in the urine, they cause a UTI. Cystitis is the most common from of UTI and it results from an infection in the bladder. Pyelonephritis is a kidney infection and
